As part of our Classic Edition, this pioneering armchair dating from 1956 represents design of lasting significance. As a timeless classic, the small bucket seat with its elegant form integrates harmoniously into various living- and hospitality scenarios to this day.
When it emerged, the compact bucket seat changed the stylistic idiom of an entire era. Its allies came from Scandinavia, the Bauhaus, and the avant-garde movement. The straight lines of the time were countered by the chair’s flowing lines and sculptural dynamic, made possible by experiments with new materials and developments in synthetic fabrics.
